Flight Ratings

Night Visual Flight Rating

Why limit yourself to just daylight flying? The Night VFR Rating allows you to fly at night in good weather conditions. Just the rating you need to get you flying before the crack of dawn for that early start to the holidays, or perhaps not having to worry as much as you might have when you've discovered that you are running out of daylight returning from that trip away.

Command Instrument Rating

Without a command instrument rating a pilot is required to remain in visual meteorological conditions at all times. (trying to push through approaching rising terrain and lowering cloud base can be really dangerous). Unfortunately, the weather does not always permit continuing on visualy, so an instrument rating may be obtained to enable a pilot to fly in safely in less than visual conditions. An IFR rating is an essential rating for professional Pilots.

David our Chief Flying Instructor has been specialising in training PPL and CPL through to IFR over many years.

The command IFR is part of our 150 hour Commercial Pilot Licence, therefore both GST free and more cost effective, giving a higher standard CPL.

Private IFR Rating

Gives you similar privileges as the CIR except for private use only.

At the initial test you can only qualify for en route flying using one of either NDB or VOR. At subsequent tests you can add other Nav. Aids, Approaches, Holding etc. until eventually you have all the privileges of a CIR (for private use of course)

Instructor Rating (either GA 50 hrs or  RAA 20 hrs)

Many pilots in pursuing a career choose flight instruction either as a method of gaining experience or a career itself. The best way to learn is to teach.

Multi-Engine Rating

A twin endorsement is a necessity for the budding career pilot. Likewise many private pilots prefer the extra speed and security of two engines.

IFR Training Approval

Allows Grade 3 and 2 Instructors to instruct for CIR and PIFR.

Aerobatic Rating

Aerobatics is the ultimate in controlling an aircraft. It places high emphasis in setting accurate attitudes and being able to control the aircraft in all stages of flight. Learning aerobatics is one of the most enjoyable avenues in aviation and the skills learnt will ultimately return to you by way of enjoying ALL flying by feeling more confident and more "in command" of any aircraft

Formation Flying

Looking for something else now you have your private pilot's licence - why not come along and learn to fly close to someone special. A formation endorsement is fun and keeps the challenge in flying and it keeps you flying with your mates.

than scratch around in the dirt like a  turkey ...
